Beginner’s guide to Disneyland

May 19, 2017

We write a lot of Disneyland based blog posts and wanted to share with you a beginner’s guide to Disneyland. We sourced some of the best info we could find on Pinterest and blog sites.

When to attend

So as shared before it’s best to go during term time at school and avoid all national holidays if you can. Bare in mind it is totally down to when is best for you and sometimes visiting during national holidays can be a great time to see special shows and eat some seasonal foods.

Photo opportunity

If you are going to the park with family or friends, please remember not to bring your selfie sticks as these are frowned upon at the park. If whilst at the park for the first time you want to see your favourite Disney characters then, the meet and greet with characters might suit you. You can meet several of your favourite characters.

Tickets

If you want to fast track a lot of rides then we recommend getting yourself a fast pass. For a limited time on rides, you can queue jump and not have to wait hours to get on a ride. This is highly recommended if you are going to get on a ride which is very popular. You can grab tickets at the entrance of rides at the park, you just pay a little extra to queue jump.

Firework Show

Attending a firework show is a must when visiting Disneyland for the first time, or check out the special parades. We want to share the best places to actually view the fireworks which are, the further away you get from the castle the more obstructions will block your view. If you don’t mind setting up camp 2 hours before the show the try and find a spot to sit near the Partners Statue.

Food

There are many food items and always new ones around the seasonal holidays. We have talked about Disneyland items before but a few fan favourites are as follows. The Mickey ears ice cream bar which is so simple but a staple at the parks. Dole whip which sounds amazing and we are yet to enjoy or try the Dole Float. The Mickey Pretzel is a firm favourite for many as a great savoury snack, you can find it at many food carts. We have seen so many gorgeous pictures of the Bacon Mac and Cheese inside from a bread cone which sounds amazing, can be found at the Cars Land. There are much more but these are great, to begin with.
