How to throw a Thanksgiving party

November 4, 2016

Thanksgiving is fast approaching, now that Halloween is out of the way. We wanted to compile a blog post with a few hints and tips on what to do this Thanksgiving, we got you covered from food to games. So let’s get started.

Well of course if you need to get organised with your Thanksgiving dinner then you might need to get things organised. Why not start by adding a countdown into the app for your Thanksgiving dinner, maybe share the event with your friends so they don’t forget about it.

Decorations are a great way to bring a bit of atmosphere to your Thanksgiving dinner party. You don’t really need to go all out with your decorations. You could decorate the dining room table with a few centrepieces. Get a few large candles in glass jars, and place a few of them across the table. Could get a few pine cones and decorate a few with some paint and glitter and place them along with the big candles in the middle of the table. Then you fill the table a bit more, why not then add a bit of extra fragrance to the table by placing autumn coloured flowers to some mason jars on the main table. You could get a few mason jars and make a few arrangements in your home. For table placements why not use some leaves and up do them, by spray painting them and writing on the person’s name. As a little extra, why not place cards on each plate so that everyone can write what they were thankful for this year.

Let’s talk exciting food for the evening, usually for Thanksgiving cooking Turkey is a must. So we recommend a few added extras for the dinner meal. For sides why not try making Bacon Wrapped Stuffing Bites, gives an extra flavour to stuffing and it is sometimes hard to do something fun with stuffing. Mash can always feel a bit plain so why not give a go at adding some parmesan and for that extra crunch add some bread crumbs. Instead of the ordinary mac and cheese why not try and put the finished meal in the oven, to make it extra crispy think of a pasta bake but for mac and cheese. For dessert instead of the traditional pumpkin pie opt for a Salted Caramel Pumpkin Cheesecake, a nice take on the traditional dessert for thanksgiving.

For a few party ideas, if you want to do more than just eat and be with family games always help. Why not get a pumpkin and a few glow in the dark sticks and play ring toss over the top of the pumpkin, nice festive ideas? A great idea for dinner conversation is leaving some thanksgiving question cards on the table a few serious and a few silly ones. A take on the classic pin the tail on the turkey then why not pin the tail on the turkey. You can find a few free printable on Pinterest for that game.

So that’s it for this Thanksgiving post, just a few ideas, we linked a few recipes above, so you can make that Thanksgiving night one to remember for years to come. Don’t forget to share your countdowns by using the #countdownplus on all social channels.
