Berlin, a popular choice for many holidaymakers around the festive season, year on year. There are plenty of Christmas markets to keep you occupied, and that brings a real festive feel to the Christmas season. If you are looking for something fun to do whilst there, then check out the Winter World on Potsdamer Platz, it is a huge winter wonderland, where you can ride a toboggan down a hill, and view some great sites of the whole city. The markets are a great place to enjoy some traditional food, and find some great handmade gifts for your family at Christmas time. If you are after some culture, then there are a fair few museums to see with some great exhibitions on. You can travel to Berlin from London from around £200 that includes flight and hotel. Not bad at all for a last-minute deal.
New York is a firm favourite for many around the holiday season. There is so much to do around the festive season so we will compile a very short list. Check out the massive Christmas Tree at Rockefeller Centre. Here you can either check out the ice-skating or just admire the big tree and see the light ceremony. There are a lot of places you can visit to go ice skating in New York, why not check out the Bryant Park Winter Village, and enjoy some tasty food, and the ice skating is free! If you are interested in checking out some great Christmas inspired show windows, then check out Saks Fifth Avenue shop front. They have themed this year’s shop front around the Land of 1000 Delights. Macy’s is a big favourite year on year, so why not check out their shop fronts. They have centred their shop displays around Believe, it is all about having faith in the magic of the festive season. Unfortunately, tickets to go to New York are pricey and even with hotel included. Expect to pay over £700 for a last-minute deal.
Lapland is a pretty place for this time of year, this place is a great place for any age. If you believe in the magic of Christmas, then this place is the best place to be for the Christmas season. You can enjoy the Santa Claus Village and the Santa Park. Why not take a magical Reindeer sleigh ride, or experience a husky sledging, Lapland is such a magical place for the festive season. You can stay in amazing log cabins, which is a great place to stay if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the Christmas period.
